I personally Think that Donna is right in everyway, there isn't a lot of meets in the year, and when there are a couple which are planned in advance so
people can shift and plan there lifes..... I don't think it is hard to join some events and get together, weather it is car shows or any other events...
but when you get more then a month notice, it's hard to see that people just can't make it. I do understand that people have things going on and
can't make it out all the time, which is fine to some degree.... and I do understand that there are a couple of people that really couldn't make it do
to personal things or pre-booked. but what I don't understand is the turn outs for most people, and no answers..... But then they speak out and say that
there is nothing going on, WELL GUESS WHAT.. THERE ARE EVENTS GOING ON..... JOIN IN.......
I'm not pointing any fingers, I'm speaking generally... I'm willing to listen to peoples idea's, and put them into action, things have to change, lets do it as a club, and not everyone thinking the same thing and one or 2 trying to make it work Which follows with "we need to do a BC/ALB meet, we haven't done one in years" once agian it's in the planning, but no responses or opinions or anything other then 2 for sures...... this is a event asked for by most, so whats wrong with it.....no one is interested, because it's hard to plan a trip when you don't have support.... Thats just my rant, I've sat back for so long, and tried to help as much as I can, but I'm sick of this it's just CRAP in my eyes If wasn't for being in the club I wouldn't of bought my 2nd SC nor my 3rd..... I would of moved on long time ago,

All the planning efforts are much appreciated, but sometimes life gets in the way. The economy the way it is must make it difficult for some as people are
holding onto there cash. Understandibly so. Some of us are lucky to still be working. Im new to this club and would like to attend more of the meets but most
are held just to far from me. Most of the meets seem to be in B.C. It is just to far for me to travel there for just a weekend, and would have to take time off
to attend but sadly it is not possible for me at this time. Its a 4 hour drive just to get to Edmonton. That been said it does not deminish the efforts of
those who keep the faith and the club alive. Since joining this club, it has helped me a lot in gaining knowledge to keep my 2 SCs going.Would not have been
able to without it. So lets all try to keep the faith and perhaps as the economy improves so may the club.A meet in Edmonton or Calgary would maybe get more
Ab. guys out! Just my 2 cents , Regards , Rob

Yah Life getting in the way can be a PITA at times..
I've been part of this club longer then most.. Even before i even had a Forced 3.8L V6 car.. (which didn't happen til like 3-4 years ago now?) And i've always done my part to try to attend a meet, or Bring info i can to help someone out.. or even go to them to help them, even after work or whatever.. I personally only planed ONE meet, and for what i thought the 5 car show up (including myself) was exceptional considering gas prices, and distance that was going to traveled.. But for those who showed, it was a pretty good cruise with a few nice stops and the odd not so nice stop..

Kev, from what I was told that cruise was good, and I wish I could of been there for that one, I do you think maybe another meet like that would be awsome,
I know you have seen it all with the club, and put a lot of time helping and stuff, and you even helped me out in a jam. But I've been around for sometime now, and I've never seen turn outs like this....

well.....
I guess if you are looking for reasons, and need to lay blame and point fingers as to the decline in enthusiasm then you need look no further than me. I will take full responsibility for the so-called steady decline of the SCCoWC. I can see what is happening as clearly as everyone else is, but this is far from the first time we have had a lack of participation from the club. we have canceled events before, and had events where one or two or three cars have come out to participate - and this has happened for years. Totem T-Bird shows there has been little interest except for one or two years. MSA Show and shines brings very few cars any more, we dont even bother with the hallmark show any more due to ZERO interest, we lost our own catagory at the Galaxy Club A&W show and shine two years ago because we didnt have enough participation.............. need I go on? Why focus on organizing and attending events that no one seems to want to bother going to?? so we try and focus on what does seem to be popular - for example the Claw-In and club only cruises - just to see it go down like it did last weekend. What can you say - the same 6 or 7 people can only bother to show up or so long before things become monotonous. Like I said - you can blame me, but please understand what has happened in my life since October of last year. I moved - THREE times (twice in the span of a month), got engaged, planned a wedding and got married, sold a house, bought a house, I am now a step father to two boys and a foster father to a 6 year old girl. I have a brand new baby nephew that I am lucky to see at most once a month. All the while holding down a full time job. Plus after a 6 week hiatus I finally have the internet at home so I can see whats happening here. Please forgive me if some of these things get in the way of running and promoting the SCCoWC as I should. I dont mean to sound like I am bitching and whining but come on - I guess is what I am saying is sometimes Life gets in the way of doing what you want. That being said..... I can only do so much. What is a club without its membership contributing to it's success? There are people that are never heard from or never attend any meets. (ghost members, I call them) Events are planned, newsletters are written and sent out, and posts are made on this board, but when it comes down to getting out to an event that people have been informed about for months - WHERE ARE THEY??? with a database of almost 100 members, if 10 of those people come out to a meet it is considered a HUGE success!! but....that is only 10%! a 1/10th participation ratio. If it had been a test in school we would have flunked it - badly. And at every meet those who do show up it is the same people, time and time again. This membership has been given the tools to participate in the club, the last two years the entire seasons events have been posted by May - giving in some cases MONTHS to plan to make it. Then you have some people that go above and beyond to help out (my Mom, Donna, Bill, Joey, Sean, Kevin, John and others) Without them I wouldnt even be posting this, as there would be no club to speak of... So where do we go from here? From a personal perspective I do not want to see this community fall by the wayside - it has become too valuable to many of us. It has become the gateway for many friendships, a tool with which to make our cars better and last longer. Some of us have seen a business opportunity and siezed it - others have just been generous with their time and knowledge and skills to make this a better club. I dont want to see that go away. As of now my chaotic life should be returning so some semblance or normality so I will once again have to time and resources to contribute to the running of the club as it deserves - IF you guys want me to, that is. If not, then tell me to step aside and let someone else take the riegns. I just need to know if that is what the membership wants. Now on a completely different note - Im workin on a cool event idea for early July.... stay tuned.... Brad Fedoruk - 1994 Thunderbird SC 5-Speed President of the SuperCoupe Club of Western Canada

Brad, you have a passion for this club and these cars that can not be denied. I think that you should stay at the helm!
As for the group, IMO most of the cars that attend these events (shows etc) are peoples toys not their daily drivers. For the rest of the 100 people (myself included) these are just cool daily drivers and use the forum to meet people and keep there cars looking and running good. I feel bad, I sold my daily driver...because MY life got in the way and the T-Bird wouldn't haul a travel trailer (you evil people in the RV business!!! lol) and my 8 year old loves camping! One day I might buy an SC as my second toy car...uh oh Stacey just told me we don't have any room! Maybe...

Brad, I think we all understand why you have been a little distant. And I don't think a single person holds it against you. I agree you are our leader and
it should stay that way.
I think we all need to start pushing now for a more succesful year next year. If I had my sc It would make it more worthwhile to come out. And now that my lx is nearly roadworthy I hope next year will see me out to more events. I mean I brought the vic to CFP because that event is more about the people than the cars. But why bring it to a cruise? It's no sc as far as handling and power. And the point of a cruise is to show up and take your toy for a nice drive. But my vic is my daily. I go for a "cruise" everyday. But I can't wait to drag my new bird down the back roads on our next cruise. But till than I'll just be on the sidelines. I'll come to group dinners, cfp events. And I'll bring the bird to the claw in, ready or not. I enjoy the club, and the people. Right now I just don't have the car.
