you Should always put the pully's on with a wrench, tight as you can get..... putting them on with a impact gun I think will only cause you some trouble
when you try to remove it down the road.... as for your other problem I don't think I can help you at this point.... Sorry

Andrew what all do you have done to the car? You likely need a tune but I would think you have a vaccum leak. I had a tough time getting a good seal on my fmic
due to the angle variance on the lower tube to the inlet plenum ( that bolts to the intake)

I would not use and impact in futurs to install the pulley as they could stretch the threads and cause premature wear on the supercharger and as Joe said it will be tougher to remove the pulley down the road. I just destroyed a pulley using a puller to remove it. John |

John, I have Kooks headers, 2.5-3-2.5 with a resonator no cats no mufflers,94 blower & TB 5% pulley,UD pulleys, mp fmic. I suspect I do need a tune, but
the way that the rpm's drop to the point if almost stalling would make me think it's more then just a tuning issue. You never know tho.
I re-tightened all the clamps, including breaking one, and the problem got ever so slightly better. I think I'm on the right track with the vacuum leak the only thing that puzzles me is that my vacuum is reading 19. When I turn the car off and try to restart it, I have to crank it a few time before it starts and when it dose it just clings to life then shoots up to almost 2krpm, when it's dropping I can rev it with no problems, it's when it settles blow 1k and then I give it some is when the rpm falls. I will double check all the angles on the tubes tomorrow. I forgot to include the facts that I deleted my a/c and I currently have Zero coolant in the engine could either of these be a culprit to my problem? Hey John do you have any rad's for sale for a 89 5 speed, I think I need one. Coolant is pissing out of somewhere in that area, but I will check to make sure it's the rad. let me know. Thanks for your help so far guy's -Andrew |

What injectors do you have in the car? did you put the 36s in? if so a tune might be a problem. If not I thing the vacuum leak is the first thisng to collow
through in. I should still have a rad here somewhere. the lack of coolant and ac should not cuase a problem. My car stumbled a bit right after the fmic and
engine change and I stripped the clamps also. I now keep a few extras in the car.

I still have the stock injectors, I will pursue the vac leak and let you know on the rad.

Unhook the battery overnight and when you start it the next day let it idle for 30 minutes without touching the throttle. This will help the pcm to relearn the
tune.

you blew a charge pipe or have a leaky inter cooler go check all your couplers and pipes if you have and welds on them also the intercooler . the car thinks
its getting the boost so its adding the extra fuel that why you have smoke and driveability issues. its running pig rich, also this woulde cause it to stay in
vacume also.
