So i fired my car up for the first time since it came off the trailer post Shoot Out. For those who don't know I represent the SCCoWC (unofficially LOL)
at the Shoot Out in the Super Stock class. Last year I had a real problem with Intercooler tubes and sealing, and as a result limped into a third place finish
. . . I did manage to win the Stock Internal dyno competitiion for the 2nd year in a row. So anyway the beast fired up and I limped it to where it will sit
for the next month or so. Now I know that Marty and John have made some big jumps, but I figured I would share my plans for this year. I am proceding with a
back seat delete, with the seats themselves being replaced with a polystyrene panel that will be shaped to hold my skinnies. The rest of the insulation will
be removed from the floor of the interior. The IC tubes will be re-routed and upgraded . . . it looks as though I will be sporting a hood similar to a certain
red SC that also had hood clearnace issues. I will also be adding a modified and ported intake manifold and inlet plemun (on the engine intake side, alerady
run the MP inlet for the blower), 42 lbs injectors and a 87MM MAF. Oh, for anybody and is interested in a mild upgrade I will have a set of 38lb Lucas
injectors and a matching 75MM Pro M MAF calibrated for them. They are good for 275 RWHP. In an attempt to push more boost through my old stock engine I will
be also adding a propane injection system and some more OD on the blower. All in all I hope for 300 or close to it at the wheels and some timeslips in the
12's. If things work out for me I would love to be out in the West coast to make some passes at Mission. Anyone else have plans Scott? Tom? Stu?

All plans are on hold indefinately due to a mortgage. At most, I'd like to put on new downpipes and cats this year. My car is set up for 300whp but I doubt
I'll have the $ to go to a dyno and tune it properly.
How are you rerouting your IC tubes? Having the return one go up over the engine instead of beside the exhaust manifold?  "Victoria" The headgasket demon bit me in the ass...

Yeah . . . I am going to build a new top , in order to switch the side that it discharges from. So that tube into the IC will follow along beside the intake
tube. The exist from the IC will stay very similar. (Oh I have swapped to a front mount, so if you are trying to picture this with a double IC it will just
confuse you.)

Been busy with school. In my last week of class then exams next week.
I fired my car up over the nice weekend and let it run for an hour. I miss the thing but knowing Calgary springs I can expect snow up until June. I did a fair amount of drive ability work last year with the transmission, suspension, brakes and wheels. I'm not super happy the way the wheels and brakes came out so on my wish list I would like to re-do those features. On the to do list my heads and cam finally shipped from double D so I should have those some time next week. My heads & cam won't be as extream as Marty or Johns car. The heads have been hand ported for low RPM flow and a really mild cam. Even with most advice against me I'm sticking to my theme of street car first track car second. I don't know if I'll have to do the BHJ Balancer but I'll be setting money aside for that. The MP 25% kit is a must or DD will kill me so I have to get on that this year too. Best to describe it as a list for priority's sake. Must Do/Currently Doing: 1) Heads & Cam Install 2) Griffin Rad Install 3) Order and install 25% OD Kit 4) Ditch Mustang headers for stock ported SC manifolds & redo the downpipes of my exhaust system (proven not to flow very well and continue to rub against my steering shaft, not safe). Scott got some exhaust manifolds for me? 5) Head to a transmission shop and address my shifting issue at WOT. The Lentech is shifting at 4000 RPM during WOT. Lentech thinks its the governor in the AOD tail shaft so I have to get that swapped. (Super Gay) Wanting to Do/Wish List: 1) Redo my spacers for the wheels or swap out for new wheels (larger) 2) Redo the brakes for Brembo cadnium plated rotors (I hate rust) 3) Find whats causing my exhaust to drone 4) LC-1 Wideband 5) Drag wheels & Tires? See 1) 6) Maybe do the BHJ Balancer After this year the car should basically be finished project wise. It would require a paint job to be complete. DD is aiming to come here for mid June. Be ready for that tune! |

I am aiming to be ready for a mid May dyno with Toma to confirm that the AF ratio is OK with the larger injectors and MAF. I am hoping to run the car May 23rd
. . . looking for low 13's or some high 12's. I should be ready for the June Tune with DD
