I've been tossing around the idea of making a black one fit my car, that way I have the billet look but the black will keep it subtle against the dark blue paint:
Yay or nay?

Do they look good on our cars? Here are some pictures that I've found:

don't like it -- I've seen them on other cars and sometimes they look okay -- on cute little cars -- but they just look wrong on our cars IMHO

Thanks for the feedback. I do like them, but I really feel that they take away from the smooth lines of our cars.
Guess I'll let my brain work on something else. Preston, the one's for the 97-03 F150's and 99-08 Super Duty's have the correct O.D. I have a warranty one here that I took out to the car to do a comparison, and it looked to be straight forward to make it work; remove the stock door and hinge, drill a few holes in the lip where the factory door sits, attach billet door. Voila! One billet door on a T-Bird. I have the AMI one's here in brushed, chrome and polished, all with or without locks ($80 - $114) . The black one's are special order. Chris B |

Epic fail. Very tacky and will be out of style in a few years, at most, anyway.

Honestly I find that it depends on the colour of the car, I was on CarDomain a few weeks ago and there was a silver T-Bird with a billet fuel door on it and
personally I thought it looked alright.
