Posts: 2550 (07/26/2008 09:13 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None anyone interested in a 200km/4hour cruise (not including regathering/picture stopping time, and the To the starting point and From the Finishing point) ???? it'll be a good chance to work the Handling, Braking, Acceleration on these cars.. It'll be a fun, yet leisurely drive it'll be mostly back road, some highway, with a late lunch/early dinner at a Restaurant (there will be a stop mid way for snacks/food if so needed, not 100% shure where, unless we Brown bag it?) Bill has gotten a quick run down (via Google maps)of this cruise.. and he can, maybe??, contest that this would be a pretty nice run.. and i had redone it a few times, adding in a few `regather' points here and there.. And I'm sorta working on the Duffy lake road one too.. And none of these cruises are to take away from the normal SCCoWC meets/cruises its just add ons to them, for those who want to drive alittle further then the normal Meet/cruise drives.. IE like me.. Less stressful of having to keep up, or having to deal with major traffic break ups.. Tour De Valley: I'm thinking starting off around 11am to Noon From a Timmy Horton/Wendy's (so if you get there early enough you can have lunch there ) and work our way to the Ice Cream place on Yale Road in Chilliwack (stop there a couple times on club cruises?)which would be @ the Third way point continue on to basically Harrison to Kilby then to Stave Lake then to Mission the long way ending at the Mission Springs Brewing Company for Dinner around 6pm (depending on stops on the way) Stops planed so far (not including Regather stops which there are least 2 or 3 of): The Ice cream Store on Yale road (Someone remember the name?? Brad i'm thinking of you here? ) (MAYBE 20-30minutes?) Maybe the Kilby Historic Site Last time i was there, I didn't find it thrilling, but i was was a Wee little Lad Knee high to a Grass hopper then too could be a Decent Late Mid way Stop to stretch ones legs spot thou.. (30 or so minutes?) Stave Lake Dam Museum I've never been, But heard/Read you can walk in the Feed Tube to the Generator Turbines?? That an I've ALWAYS wanted to go through it Heck for the adventurous, We can go see if the VW Beetle is still where i last seen it (Not much left) (30-60minutes?) Also thinking a Sunday, Maybe Sept? even thou on the 21st theres a cruise/picnic already plan (Heard the person that was breaking into Cars at that parking lot was arrested and odds are released the next day) .. so.. But since it's a Small group.. We can just pick any sunday we're all free and just go for it Also don't know if anyone has eaten at Mission Springs.. spendy but decent food, sadly no `free refills' on drinks Their site has the menu/prices to give you an idea.. and if we get the patio, we can look out over the Fraser River ) Any thoughts, i'm open "Turning seems to be a lost form." So 28th it should be (??) Stave lake dam is only open untill 5pm.. so that means there @ 4pm.. So going by cruise time with out stops, need to leave @ 11:30am to 12pm at a minimum So.. 10:30am with a now added stop for a quick bite to eat for lunch?? I dought Ice cream can be considered Lunch.. or can it?? Now to think of a place service is semi quick and decent food for a lunch? If only i still had the Habatchi (sp?) i could bring that.. Also There's a couple of choices for lunch stops.. Choice one: around 12:00-12:30pm (gee around lunch time) that's in Chilliwack (Island 22 Park) and we can get `desert' at the ice cream place for like 20 or so minutes (since we're all going to be driving 5spds here) and then afterwards continue on our way... Choice Two: would have ice cream first inroute then have a semi late lunch around 1:30-2:00pm at Kilby Provincial Park It's been awhile since i've been to the Kilby Provincial Park.. and i have never been to the Island 22 park.. But choice one seems to be the better choice.. Lunch will be @1hr or untill we're finished.. which ever comes first.. and i have a few maps printed up, and a semi schedule..
