Posts: 1484 (07/21/2008 02:03 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None This sunday the 27th the Galaxie Club of Canada is hosting their annual show n shine at the A&W in Coquitlam (1355 Lougheed Hwy - just across from Toys R Us) Registration is open from 9:00 am till noon, and entry is $10.00 per person As usual, it it always best to show up as a club to a show n shine, so we will meet up at the northeast corner of the Coquitlam Silver City theaters parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and cruise over to the show shortly after that. Bring a chair, some refreshments and some sunscreen! It looks like this awesome summer weather will hold out! see you there! Posts: 1488 (07/28/2008 09:33 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	we had a total of TWO CARS show up from the club. understandably one couldn't make it due to mechanical issues, and we had Kevin, Joey and Sheryl (and Shadow too) come and hang out for the day but........ where the hell was everyone else?????? this show n shine has been on the schedule since early spring, so people knew about it. A reminder thread has been at the top of the forum for a week, an e-mail was sent to everyone and we only had two cars show up?? this lack of participation cost us our own category at this show!! - The last meet (laser tag) had to be canceled due to lack of participation. A coffee meet was hastily thrown together in its place (with mild success) -The MSA Ford car show we had a total of TWO CARS at that show. -Bill recently had a Port Kells thread, short notice as it was a meet like that still should have drawn out more than the two cars that came. -the Tradex show in April was an all time low for club support - despite all the personal time and money invested in the display very very few club members actually came to help/support/etc. I can keep on going but I think you get the point. We started the year out great with a meet n'greet at Tim Hortons, and followed up with a successful Castle Fun park meet but anything after that has been absolutely dismal. I don't know if you guys are getting bored with this whole club thing but if you have any suggestions I'm all ears. The club has two show n shines coming in the next couple of weeks that I will unfortunately be out of town for. If I'm not there does that leave us with ONE car to represent the SCCoWC? Thankfully I got er running again last night. Starter wiring was pretty messed up. I agree though. Participation has been incrediblely bad. I have tried my best to be at every show. Unless my car wouldn't let me. I wish I had some sudgestions for participatioon. Even thou if i'm there for `support' i end up staying to the end.. But it makes it more bearable that i have the ability to leave... like the awards yesterday.. it was like `Fuck this... I'm going... ' Heck even at the Car show at the Italian Culture Center.. Cars 100times better then that at this Galaxy show (and worth about 100 times more too), good music (for some i understood ), Has more the A&W to offer (along with Wine and beer), and ALLOT better females walking around.. But honestly, even thou i Met up with two people i know there (Co-worker and someone i just know) I was bored out of my mine in like an hour.. and had to leave... and 90% of the cars show around here have the EXACTLY the same cars in them, as last years.. or the car show from last weekend.. which REALLY doesn't help.. And i'm shure others feel the same.. And we all know i'm here for the club, be it for just surport or to try and show off my car along side you all.. (The T-bird is ALMOST worth showing) But if i feel like doing something else, or have other plans that are more important.. i'm sorry... "Turning seems to be a lost form." Of all people you are about the last person that needs to apologize. you almost ALWAYS show up - whether you are entering a car show or not you are there (even when you say you aren't going to come!!!) the above post was certainly not directed at you, or the other six or seven members that are there at almost every single event almost every time. there is a small, dedicated core group that actually make an effort to participate in more than one event a year as for everyone else - I know sometimes its not convenient, and that people have lives to live and other more important things to spend time on (hey don't we all???) - but at least try and participate! you never know - you might even have a bit of fun - learn some things - meet some great people..... Most events have been worked out so they end up on a sunday so most people can attend because in the past Saturdays were a problem. I know a lot of cars are still in the works and what not, but hey I show up with whatever wheels I got and I know other people do the same Please reply let us know how we should deal with this. any suggestions.
