run the car till the red `check gage' light comes on.. then run it some more
Raise car, Drop exhuast, Undo clamp holding the X-over vent hose and remove hose (either side, doesn't matter), Repeat process for the Filler/Vent Tube on passengers side. With a Jack under the tank (with a piece of plywood, ect) undo the 4 bolts holding the straps, Lower gastank.. disconnect the Evap tube, Return and Feed lines and electrical connection at pump (there's another Electrical connect infront of the tank, Around where the passenger strap bolts to the floor pan) Remove tank... Remove Bolts holding the driveshaft "safety" loops (two of them), then remove the 4 bolts holding the driveshaft to the Rear Diff.. Clean the flanges on both the Diff and the Driveshaft, and not with thinners, just a rag will do, since you want to keep the paint dabs on them(one on each flange) .. and when you reassemble align the paint dabs as close as possible to each other.. And technically you can do it, by just lowering the drivers side of the gas tank.. But man it's a PITA, least with little to now clearance

I would just drop the front of the tank and use a floor jack to drop it to desired height after unbolting exhaust and dropping it at the manifolds.
Remove front u-joint and unbolt from the rear, it should just slide right out. I have removed the trans from my car like this while still having everything bolted up.

Probably easier to drop the rear end (4 bolts) and slide the driveshaft up and over that.

Only if you have the jack stands under the lower control arms...
Other wise, least for me, it doesn't work too well

Nope.. Either it needs to be one From a Super coupe or V8 (not shure the 4.6L is the same volume thou, i know the 5.0L is)
Or you can get a after market Fuel pump thats flows like 190LPH for a Mustang, the only thing there is that the pick up screen is different for the mustang compared to the T-birds.. I've always been careful in removing the T-birds one, cleaning it, and installing it onto the New fuel pump.. never had problems.. Also Remember the Orientation of pick up screen on the FP when installed on the Fuel pump/Fuel Sender piece There is sites on line (SCP?) that sells a T-bird specific kit.. but BLAH..
