My turn signals will just quit on my 97 bird every now and again. They will start working 2 minutes later.

I'd bet it is the MFS (multi-function switch).
I had the same problem with mine, but it took out the brake lights. Something in the hazard button was the problem. I messed with it for a while, but ended up getting a brand new one and never looked back. Chris B
