If it doesn't impress in one way it doesn't impress in the other...
Last night it decides to throw the Accessory Belt (Fan Belt Serpentine Belt, whatever) On me Driving down Rumble Street.. Not being 100% shure it did, since all i seen was the Battery/Alternator light come on, knowing that the Alternators are semi known to go on the 4.6L and i had a feeling mine is on it's last legs... start turning everything off i did not need went to turn onto Boundry, and i'm like.. OH S#$T!!!!! BELT WENT!!!!!!!!!!! Since the steering was hard.. look down, temp is still below N.. now thinking `you better make it to the Gas station at imperial' just as i get with in 50or so feet of the driveway the Check Guage Light comes on, and half way into the parking spot (shut it off then too) the coolant over flows
Now i'm hoping the engine isn't screwed.. after picking out bits of Belt out of every area i can think of under the hood.. installed a new one, toped the Antifreeze (only @ 2.5L at this time) fired it up, held it at 1400rpms got it found some Oil slim come up through the Expantion tank (Semi scared there, but this car had it since day one of owning it, but ALLOT worse then, i had flushed the system least a month or so after buying the car) Either way.. Cap back on, ran it for another 10 minutes or so, Rad hose isn't getting firm..
So.. here i am Crossing my fingers that i don't have to swap in a PI motor (Anyone know of a Good low milage Explorer one??
